Opening of PARAMAKUDI Branch in 
KARAIKUDI SSA  on 12.7.2015

Karaikudi SSA conducted its Executive committee Meeting and also opening of Paramakkudi Branch.

Com. N.Nagaendran, District President and Circle Organising secretary, presided over the meeting .
The President requested the Circle Secretary Com. 
V. Rama Rao to formally declare the opening of the Paramakkudi Branch, which was recived with ovation and jubilation. More than 38 members form part of the Branch.
The President said though there are 347 pensioners in the SSA we were able to enroll 46 Annual payment members and 79 Life members totalling 105. He assured to increase the membership well before the AIC.


The Secretary Com. P. Murugan presented a report to the Executive. A notice improvement in membership is due to periodical meetings held at Karaikudi, Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga. The District Secretary is taking out copy of the circular issued by the Circle and send by post to their members, sitting daily at the office of GM where pensioners express their problems to the secretary.Secretary said the PPO book should be sent direct to the Pensioners as per the latest orders of DoP & PG and the circle should pursue the case. Several cases pertaining to banks were settled after a bitter fight and delay. He said the next District Conference will be held in the month of January 2016 at Rameswaram. The house
condoled the Death of Com. Shanmuganathan Ex President and Com . Chiddu Singh Dy Gs CHQ.

Com. V. Rama Rao C/s speaking appreciated the interest shown by the members and there is an increase in membership now and the SSA activists are meeting new members at their door-step. He gave a detailed account of 78.2, 7th Cpc – PRC, BSNL MRS out door bill delay due ERP system which the circle Association taken up and from April payments started in several SSAs.

The 6th AGB Meeting of Tuticorin SSA was conducted in a Grand manner on 11-7-2015 at 1000 hrs. More than 110 members in which 21 women members participated.

 
Com. Jeevanandham President said that our organisation all all level following democratic norms very strictly in the matter of holding periodical meetings like E.C. Conferences and submission of accounts which is a transparent organisation and because of that we have toddy grown to this stature.
Com. Madasamy District Secretary read out the report and activities during the period and highlighted the problem of delay in settlement of MRS out door treatment and few issues that is submitted for Adalat.
Com. Baranabas ex D/S and ADS gave a vivid picture of our organisation and its efforts to settle 78.2 and other issues.
Com. Ambigapathy Asst. Circle Secretary praised and recalled the efforts in getting revision of pension for pre 2007 retirees by Com. Chhiddu sing our Dy. General Secretary who is no more. The present team of our CHQ is striving hard to get benefits of 78.2 and our inclusion in 7th CPC.
Com. Paulsamy, Treasurer not only submitted the accounts but also highlighted the efforts taken to enroll new members both life and Annual during the year.
Com. Ganesan Treasurer ( Welfarefund) said they are paying rs.2000 in case of death of member pensioner and Rs. 1000/- in case of admission of a member in the hospital for more than 7 days which is unique in this SSA.
 


Eliciting views : Five members including Rtd DGM Com. S C Bose highlighted 60:40 issue, holding of joint account and linking of Aadhar card to pension etc took part in the discussion which was lively.

Com. E. Kanakaraj Circle Asst Treasurer said we must try to enroll more family pensioners and said in a case in Tirunelveli, a family pensioner was paid only rs. 4500 pm and on the intervention of our association her eligible pension of Rs.8200 was secured with Rs.1.44 lakh as arrears. Similarly many cases we have got arrears besides increase in their basic pension.
As our All India organisation has taken several measures to move the file for early clearance on 78.2 issue, he rolled out the formula for pre 2007 pensioners Viz. New basic pension would be arrived by multiplying 2.3166 X old basic pension for those who retired prior to 1.1.2007.
For those who retired after every case has to be worked out separately due NEP and other factors.

Com . V. Rama Rao Circle Secretary said our All India membership is moving nearly to 50,000, we are bringing both in Hindi and in English Pensioner”s patrika once in 3 months to educate our members, our unity and co-ordinated function we have made a breakthrough by breaking the long administrative delay in case of 78.2 and today it is moving fastly and we are confident to get the benefit shortly. As regards Tamilnadu we are having 8000 members and moving forward and more than 50% has subscribed for life and requested member to give life subscription and also pension patrika. We have conducted two convention for of Pension Anomaly case members, we have filed case at CAT New Delhi Com. R L Kapoor and DG our Legal Committee member reports that Our Advocate has filed Rejoinders today.
The pleadings recorded as completed. Next Date of hearing is 31st July 2015.
As regards Medical bills due to introduction ERP system the bills were pending from Oct 14 and when we brought to the notice of PGM (F) he informed the work almost over March end payment would be made. If there is still pending such cases may be given to circle.
Regarding AIC at Bangalore 21/22 Nov. the request for more delegates/observers can not be accommodated in view of high cost and R.C capacity to accomodate more than 1000 for two days. He thanked the SSA for taking a decision to send Rs.50/ from District fund itself for the total number of members. Regarding inclusion of BSNL pensioners in the 7th CPC all out efforts are being taken. Initially our AGS Com. Gangadhar Rao & Gangadhara rao C/S Karanataka met Justice Mathur, Chairman 7th Cpc and submitted our memorandum and the reaction was that we have got a primafacie case but still the Union Government has to make reference. Towards that our leaders have spoken to Secretary, DoT, who held a view that the future reversion of BSNL would have to be referred to PRC. We are taking up with 
Union Leaders like Mr. Maharishi for inclusion of BSNL waitress also.
