AT LAST, DoT HAS TAKEN A DECISION
On the request of our comrades, two ministers of Sri Nardndra Modi’s Cabinet
have taken up our case of extension of 78.2% IDA …
Sri Ananthakumar from Karntaka and Dr Harsh Vardhan from Delhi.
Similarly, 10 MPs from different states and different political parties also took up the case
with Prime Minister as well as Minister for Communications. The MPs are:
Sri Arjun Lal Meena from Udaipur, Rajasthan
Sri. Baishnab Parida (RS) from Odisha
Sri. Bidyut Baran Mahto from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand
Dr Dharam Vira Gandhi from Patiala, Punjab
Sri Magantti Venkateswara Rao from Eluru, AP
Dr Maitreyan (RS) from Tamilnadu
Sri M K Raghavan from Calicut, Kerala
Sri R Gopalakrishnan from Madurai, Tamilnadu
Dr. P Venugopal from Tiruvalluvar, Tamilnadu and
Smt. Vijila Sathyanath (RS) from Tamilnadu
More MPs like Dr Murali Manohar Joshi were too approached by our comrades.
We are yet to confirm if they have written to the Minister for Communications on the issue.
Anyway, the efforts made by our comrades at different levels have the desired result.
After dillydallying for months together, now it is reported by Com. Chhidu Singh (Dy GS),
Department of Telecom has come to a conclusion in the case.
1. Pr-2007 and post 2007 pensioners will be segregated.
2. For pre-2007 pensioners, fresh Cabinet approval is required.
3. For post-2007 pensioners, if Department of Expenditure permits, the benefit can be given without cabinet approval.
Suitable reply is being sent to the Department of Expenditure on the above line.
Now, the ball is in the court of Dept of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
We will pursue the case further at that level.
DPE ORDER ON IDA TO BANKS
Our CHQ has forwarded copy of the order issued by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE)
raising the IDA rate to 91.3%, [effective from 1-7-2014 and applicable to BSNL pensioners],
to the Central Pension Processing Centres of major 22 Banks in India. We do it everytime
when the DPE order is posted in their website.
This helps all the BSNL pensioners drawing their pension through banks receive the IDA very promptly.
